For the record: our latest podcast has dropped
Listen Up! The latest season of Wollongong Youth Services’ For the Record podcast has officially dropped.
The youth-led podcast, created by young people in Wollongong, is back for its third season with a fresh look and powerful new stories. Formerly known as Youth Power Hour, the podcast continues to amplify the voices of local youth, diving into real and relevant conversations that matter.
Hosted by local young people Zinah, Alex, and Phoenix, For the Record explores topics ranging from sport and music to mental health and identity. Each week, listeners can tune in to hear from special guests including the Illawarra Hawks, Wollongong Youth Services staff, Headspace, and local bands such as Silvia Lane & Dagger Child and Drag Queen Fancy.
Produced weekly at Wollongong Youth Services, the nine-episode season is released every week on Spotify. The show not only highlights the local services Wollongong City Council provides but also showcases the lived experiences and insights of young people in the community.
Lord Mayor of Wollongong Councillor Tania Brown said it’s inspiring to see young people in Wollongong leading the way with projects like For the Record.
“This podcast is a brilliant example of youth creativity, collaboration, and community spirit. It gives our young residents a platform to share their stories, connect with local services, and support one another,” said Cr Brown.
“I encourage everyone to tune in and celebrate the voices shaping our city’s future.”
With over 750 streams across its first two seasons, For the Record hopes to build its following and continue to grow as a platform for youth expression and connection.
You can listen here to the new season of For the Record from 5 November, with episodes releasing each Wednesday on Spotify.
