Programs for Adults

We run programs for people of all ages to help you stay active and healthy, learn new skills, and meet new people.

Regular programs

Tech Help

If you want to learn to use your technology better, then book a one-on-one tech help session. Library staff will assist you with learning about your devices, and can help you do a range of tasks. Whether you want to set up an email account, learn to borrow an eBook, or just browse the internet safely, we offer sessions to help.

We offer sessions at Wollongong Library - to book a session, call (02) 4227 7414.

Old Boys Social Club

Wollongong City Council has started an initiative to bring together older men in the community. Whether it's watching a film together or taking apart bicycles, there are a range of programs being organised to get you out of the house and socialising.

If you need transport assistance to make it to an event, contact My Aged Care to check if you are eligible and ask to be referred to Wollongong Council Community Transport.

For more information, visit their website.

Knit, Stitch, Yarn

For all those crafty and creative types, our libraries offer a range of sewing, knitting, and crochet social programs for you to get involved with. Instead of working on your projects at home alone, come along to one of our sessions and work alongside others who share the same passion!

Whether you want to share tips and tricks, or just have a cuppa and keep your hands busy, we've got craft programs happening at most of our libraries. Explore our events calendar to see where your nearest one is happening.

Game On

If you want to get together with a group of friends and play board games, then Wollongong Library has you covered! Head to the library every 1st or 3rd Monday of the month between 6 and 8PM to play a range of board, card, or roleplay games. Bring your own or use one of ours!

We also have board games available to borrow and play in the library at any time - just as the staff at the counter for assistance.

Sewing Machine Safety Induction - Wollongong Library

Join us at Wollongong Library for a sewing machine safety induction where you will learn how to safely operate our Janome sewing machines. One of our trained staff members will guide you through the process of sewing machine set-up, operation, and pack-up. Additionally, you will learn how to safely use the library iron.

This course is essential for both beginners and experienced sewers looking to book and use the sewing machines available at Wollongong Library. Register your interest via this online form.

Please note: You must be 16 years and over to book a sewing machine. Children aged between 12 and 16 years must be accompanied by an adult who has undertaken the induction.
