Helensburgh Toddlers’ Pool is ready to make a splash

Thursday 17 December 2020

Helensburgh Toddlers’ Pool will open tomorrow and is ready for the summer after undergoing a series of essential improvements.

The works which included separating the operation of the main pool and toddlers’ pool to meet NSW Department of Health guidelines will allow children and parents alike the opportunity to cool off over the summer months.

The full list of works included the installation of a new cartridge filter, pumps and equipment servicing the toddlers’ pool; new pipework, fittings and fixtures; a separate 5,000 litre balance tank and solar heating controller with controls and sensors.

Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM said the works will help increase the longevity of the pools and help minimise the disruption to swim services.

“The separate filter systems mean that the management of the Helensburgh pools can be looked after individually. Any issues that affect one pool will no longer mean that both the main and toddlers’ pool will need to be closed, which I’m sure will be appreciated in the interest of public health.”

“Our pools are important community facilities and keeping the pools open and running smoothly in the summer is a priority. We are happy to have a solution that keeps the community of Helensburgh enjoying their pools over what will be a busy upcoming season.”

To help the community over the summer swim season and keep everyone COVID safe, we’re asking visitors to make a booking to swim at our freshwater and saltwater pools.

Our booking system supports equitable access to our pools for everyone. You can book your swim to attend any of Council’s public pools by visiting our website.
