A call out on Wollongong wellbeing

At Wollongong City Council our focus in on improving the liveability and wellbeing of all community members.

Every two years we check in with our residents to see how they’re feeling about living in Wollongong and their sense of wellbeing.

From Monday 22 February, we’ll be inviting residents to participate in the survey and provide feedback via the Wollongong Local Government Area Wellbeing Survey.

“We are here to do our best for the community, and by gaining feedback we can understand what our residents think already works, what’s important and where we can improve on how we work with other levels of government, business, and agencies to achieve the future we want for Wollongong,” Wollongong City Lord Mayor Cr Gordon Bradbery AM said.

“We want to know what you think about living in Wollongong. How safe do you feel? What community activities do you enjoy? How do you travel around your community? And what services do you use and value?”

The Wollongong Local Government Area Wellbeing Survey will be open for feedback over two weeks from Monday 22 February to Monday 8 March 2021. IRIS Research will conduct phone surveys on behalf of Council and there will also be an online survey open to everyone during that time.

Residents will be randomly selected to participate in the phone survey, with interviewers identifying themselves by saying they are ‘calling on behalf of Wollongong City Council’. The online survey will also be available on Council’s website.

“We’re looking forward to hearing this year’s feedback and use this knowledge to focus on making Wollongong even better in the years to come,” said Cr Bradbery.

“The Wollongong Local Government Area Wellbeing Survey is an invaluable tool which allows us to check on the wellbeing of the community and gauge their levels of satisfaction. I encourage every resident to participate in the survey and share their thoughts on what it’s like to live, work and play in Wollongong.”
