Supporting Social Enterprise workshops

Friday 18 June 2021

Wollongong City Council are funding community led workshops about how you can start and grow a social enterprise.

Social enterprises are organisations that work to address social issues such as unemployment and are important in building an inclusive, fair, stable and sustainable economy. Social enterprises in our community include Green Connect, Illawarra Aboriginal Corporation and The Flagstaff Group.

Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM said Council is committed to supporting the growth of social enterprises as they are an integral part of our community.

“Social enterprises provide many benefits working in different areas such as social, environmental, cultural and economic.

“These free workshops are being held so our residents can build on their passions through the innovative and passionate world of social enterprises,” Cr Bradbery said.

“There are three different workshops open to everyone with the last session a perfect opportunity to network with other established social enterprise organisations. So, whether you’re looking to start a social enterprise or build the one you already have, these events have plenty of resources and information available.”

Bookings are essential as there is limited numbers. For more information and to book your free spot visit the Green Connect website or call (02) 4243 1537.
