First ever Facebook live Comic Gong Trivia
Do you think you know everything about Harry Potter? Are you an expert on Deadpool or The Green Lantern? Know a thing or two about Studio Ghibli?
If you do, we have the event for you. This Friday 15 May Wollongong City Libraries will present the first Comic Gong Pop Culture Trivia contest live on Facebook.
Beaming live to your living room, study or bedroom our Comic Gong hosts, Megan and Amanda will tease you with trivia and other totally fantastic pop culture facts. Who knew that Ridley Scott, director of Bladerunner, Alien, and Gladiator, was first tasked with designing the Daleks on Dr Who before he left the BBC to concentrate on directing?
“This is the first time our library staff have ventured into Facebook for a live event,’’ said Council’s Manager Library and Community Services Jenny Thompson.
“We are looking forward to the fun and hilarity of a trivia evening and we are hoping that our many pop culture fans and Comic Gong faithful will join us live. It’s nice to be opening the virtual doors of our Library and getting in touch with our community. This is just one of a range of different ways we’re working to stay connected with our members.’’
If you wish to take part, simply visit our Wollongong City Libraries Facebook page, like our page and join the event. The event will run from 6-8pm on Friday 15 May. Comments from trivia goers will be moderated. There are only a few rules:
- No answers in the chat
- No Googling [Good luck with that!]
- Four rounds, ten questions each
- Mark your own questions [no cheating]
- Submit your answers by Direct Message
The winning team or person will be announced on the Library’s Facebook page on 16 May. There will be no prizes, just bragging rights and absolute Facebook glory.
As part of the contest the event will include a ‘look back’ at previous Comic Gong highlights.
