Bellambi Beach Rescue
Friday 9 October 2020
Today, Friday 9 October 2020, at about 3.15pm Wollongong City Council lifeguards rescued an adolescent boy at Bellambi Beach.
It’s understood the boy had fallen into the water attempting to retrieve a large inflatable ball. He was rescued from a rip about 400m north of the beach’s flagged area.
The boy was treated by Lifeguards at the beach, and was transported to Wollongong Hospital.
We encourage all beach users to always swim between the flags. Remember, if you do get in to trouble in the water, remain calm and put up your arm to attract the attention of Lifeguards or Lifesavers.
