From Wollongong to the North Pole – Santa’s Mailbox is now open!

Looking for a way to get in touch with Santa this Christmas?

You’re in luck as Wollongong City Libraries will work their holiday magic to send your letters straight to the North Pole via their special mailboxes.

Wollongong City Libraries are excited to bring back Santa’s mailboxes for another year. With one mailbox placed at all seven library locations, we’re making sure our youngest library members can get their letters off to Santa before Christmas. And don’t worry, our librarians will make sure no letter goes unanswered, with a personalised reply from Santa himself.

“It’s that time of the year where our youngest community members are getting ready to celebrate the holiday season – and for some that means putting pen to paper to register their Christmas wishes,” Wollongong City Council’s Director Community Services (Acting) Lucielle Power said.

“However, we’ve been told that Santa loves hearing all your exciting stories, not only about your wish list. He’ll be happy to hear about all the ways you kept busy during lockdown, the new dirt bike track you tried out last weekend, the awesome book you’re reading, or what you’re looking forward to next year.

“When dropping your letter to our mailboxes, make sure to include your name, age, and address, so Santa knows who he’s responding to. Once that’s all done, and with a little help from our librarians, you keep an eye out for Santa’s reply!”

Please ensure to follow the Public Health Order when visiting our libraries, sign-in with the QR code, get tested and stay home if you’re feeling unwell, and keep mask wearing when it’s appropriate to do so.

In line with the NSW Public Health Order, unvaccinated customers over the age of 16 years are not able to enter the library. These customers can place letters in the return chute when returning items and our librarians will make sure they are placed in Santa’s mailbox.
