Training can resume on Council’s outdoor sportsfields

Friday 22 May 2020

Wollongong City Council has been working with a number of state and local sports associations to support their return to training on our outdoor sportsfields.

Following updated advice from the NSW State Government, Council will from Monday 25 May provide access to individual clubs’ who wish to return to training across our many fields across the city.

The clubs will need to liaise with their local sports association to ensure their clubs adhere to the individual sports return to training framework to address the NSW Public Health Orders, and meet physical distancing guidelines as well as comply with the strict record keeping health and hygiene practices that will be audited by the individual sports.

As sports associations are managing their individual response to Coronavirus, participants should contact their clubs and associations directly for updates.

On NSW State Government advice no timeframes have been determined on a return to any sporting competitions and our Leisure Centres remain closed at this time.
