“Laneways Live is an all-ages, art and cultural festival that will open up the heart of the Wollongong CBD for a long weekend of local music, great food and fun,” Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM said.

“Wollongong is fast becoming known as a must visit destination that offers great food, live music, boutique bars and first-rate coffee. Laneways Live takes all these elements that are great about Wollongong and combines them for into a four-day festival of live entertainment!”

Minister for Enterprise, Investment, and Trade Stuart Ayres said Wollongong is evolving into a thriving mini-metropolis with convenient train connections and unique local culture and attractions.

“Laneways Live showcases the best part of the social fabric of Wollongong’s community, drawing visitors to reconnect with regional NSW and diverse events that create opportunities for local businesses to thrive again,” Mr Ayres said.

“We are proud to support events like Laneways Live, as the NSW Government’s CBDs Revitalisation Program looks to bring life back to the beating hearts of numerous CBDs across greater Sydney, including Wollongong and Newcastle.”

Wollongong City Council has a strong focus on supporting local businesses. One of the ways we can achieve that is by activating the Wollongong CBD with events, outdoor dining opportunities and art installations.

“Council has been doing a lot of work over the past 12 months to encourage outdoor dining opportunities and our community has responded with excitement and enthusiasm. It shows that our community and visitors to the city are keen to discover what’s new about Wollongong and enjoy the variety of experiences on offer,” Cr Bradbery said.

“My message is that everyone should get involved in this great event and enjoy the atmosphere, music and of course, great food that will be on offer. Laneways Live is going to be an exciting event. I encourage you to book a table at a participating restaurant or bar and make it a top night out.”
