Holborn Skate Plaza Gets a Spring Update

Monday 21 October 2019

Berkeley’s Holborn Skate Plaza will be closed for four days this week for essential maintenance.

The popular plaza will be closed from Monday 21 October so that the surface can be resealed. It’s anticipated the plaza will reopen on Friday 25 October, provided we get good weather.

The plaza was opened in February 2015 and features ramps, jumps, quarter pipes, banks, ledges and transitions. The inclusive space was designed for all ages and abilities, and is open to skateboarders, scooter riders and roller bladers.

“Holborn Park and this plaza are really valued spaces in our community and every day people come here to socialise, relax and just enjoy being outdoors,’’ Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM said.

“Given how well the skate plaza is used, it’s important we keep it well maintained. By closing it for five days, we’ll be able to reseal its surface and see it stay in good shape for many years to come.’’
