Our swim squads are a great way to keep your child’s fitness levels up and improve their swimming technique. They're also a great social activity!
Squad levels are based on skill level (not age) and can cater for anyone under 18 years old.
Levels
Session length: 45 minutes
Freestyle competency:
- 50m freestyle kick on 1.30
- 8 x 25m freestyle on 45 sec
- 200m freestyle with corrected execution of stroke.
Backstroke competency:
- 8 x 25m backstroke on 50 sec
- 200m backstroke with with correct execution of stroke.
Breaststroke competency:
- 8 x 25m breaststroke on 1 min
- 200m breaststroke with correct execution of stroke
- Demonstrate underwater pull out
Butterfly competency:
- 4 x 25m with continuous kick
Individual Medley competency:
- Demonstrate racing dive, appropriate turns and finishes on all four strokes
Session length: 1 hour
Freestyle competency:
- 300m with correct execution of stroke
- 100m freestyle in 2 min
- 100m freestyle kick in 2 min 45 secs
- 8 x 50m freestyle with correct execution of stroke and drill on 1 min 15 secs.
Backstroke competency:
- 8 x 25m backstroke with correct execution of stroke and drill on 45 secs.
Breaststroke competency:
- 8 x 25m breaststroke with correct execution of stroke and drill on 50 secs.
Butterfly competency
- 6 x 25m butterfly with correct execution of stroke and drill on 1 min.
Individual Medley competency:
- 10m Individual Medley on 2 min 30 secs.
Session length: 1 hour
Freestyle competency:
- 400m with correct execution of stroke
- 200m of freestyle in 3 min 30 secs
- 100m freestyle kick in 2 min 30 secs
- 8 x 100m freestyle with correct execution of stroke and drill on 2 min 15 secs.
Backstroke competency:
- 8 x 50m backstroke with correct execution of stroke and drill on 1 min 15 secs.
Breaststroke competency:
- 8 x 50m breaststroke with correct execution of stroke and drill on 1 min 30 secs.
Butterfly competency:
- 8 x 25m butterfly with correct execution of stroke and drill on 45 secs.
Individual Medley competency:
- 100m Individual Medley on 2 mins.
Teen Fit is for swimmers who've completed Gold level, and want to keep going!
Session length: 1 hour
Freestyle competency:
- 800m freestyle with correct execution of stroke
- 200m freestyle in 3min 10 secs
- 100m freestyle in 2 min 15 secs
- 8 x 100m freestyle with correct execution of stroke and drills (1 min 50 secs).
Backstroke competency:
- 8 x 50m backstroke with correct execution of stroke and drills (1min 10 secs).
Breaststroke competency:
- 8 x 50m breaststroke with correct execution of stroke and drills (1min 15 secs).
Butterfly competency:
- 4 x 50m butterfly with correct execution of stroke and drills (1min 15 secs).
Individual Medley competency:
- 200m Individual Medley with correct execution of stroke and drills under 3 mins 30 secs.
Adult Squads
People over 18 who are confident in the water can join our Adult Squads to improve fitness and technique.
To take part, you must:
- Be able to swim 25m or more using correct freestyle technique, and
- Be able to swim at least one other type of stroke, such as backstroke or breaststroke.

- A dishonour fee for failed direct debit payments is $5.50.

We accept Active Kids vouchers for Swim School activities. Please tell us when booking if you'd like to use a voucher, and make sure you bring a printed copy of the voucher when paying.
