Introducing Lucky, a stunning feline who carries an air of strength with her inquisitive and intelligent nature. This independent cat has a penchant for high places, including the backs of sofas and the armrests of chairs, making her the ruler of her domain as she surveys her surroundings with keen eyes. Her confident strides reflect a natural leadership spirit, making her the perfect companion for those who appreciate a blend of independence and affection.

Though she has a dominant personality, Lucky is also a gentle and loyal feline who expresses love through actions like snuggling on your lap while you work or finding warmth in sleeping near you. When it comes to social interactions, she's a curious lady who would thrive alongside a cat-friendly dog or a submissive feline friend. Her playful toughness and vibrant spirit make her an engaging character, ready for a home that offers the right amount of stimulation. Despite her fearless demeanour, she's still sensitive to loud noises but her quick recovery proves her resilience.

If you are prepared to offer an enriching indoor environment filled with adventures, toys, and cozy spots, Lucky will reward you with her heart-warming presence. This larger-than-life fluffy girl with her wild side deserves a family ready to enjoy her unique charm and loyal companionship. Whether she's playfully chasing a sunbeam or observing the world with an intelligent gleam in her eyes, Lucky is sure to fill your home with love and endless joy.

Yes you can!

When you let us know you're interested to adopt a cat or adopt a dog, we'll contact you and arrange a meet and greet so you can say hello and decide if they’re the one for you.

Our dogs and cats are boarded at a number of regional kennelling facilities contracted by Council. These are currently located across Wollongong, Gerringong and Nowra. You can't directly visit these facilities, but we'll bring the dog or cat to a location in our area that works for you.

Being a pet owner is a big responsibility.

To adopt a pet from Council:

  • You must be over 18 years old
  • You don't have to live in the Illawarra, but you will need to be able to transport your pet home.

Before adopting a new pet, consider your lifestyle and living arrangements.

If you have any questions or concerns, our team is happy to talk to you about your situation. Please email us or call (02) 4227 7111 to arrange a discussion.

We recognise the serious issue of baiting within the animal rehoming industry. To help prevent this, we have an assessment process in place for potential owners.

Potential owners are vetted to make sure that they’re suitable and committed to animal well-being.
