Sponsor Local Communities

Sponsorship is a great way to show your local pride, and raise your business’s profile in the Wollongong Community.

We run many activities which can offer sponsorship opportunities, from large community events to cultural and sporting programs.

Browse some of our current sponsorship options below, and email or call us on (02) 4227 7111 if you'd like to know more.

Australia Day

Wollongong’s biggest community event of the year attracts around 50,000 people. We have multiple opportunities available, from fireworks and major sponsor slots to individual activities.

New Year’s Eve

Our harbour-based New Year celebrations are a Wollongong institution, and a great way for your brand to celebrate with the community.

Moonlight Movies

Free family films under the stars at various locations across the city. Talk to us about supporting one or more screenings.

Comic Gong

Comic nerds, cosplayers and pop culture fans unite! Organised by Wollongong City Libraries, this annual event attracts all ages from Wollongong and beyond.

Viva la Gong

Wollongong’s premier arts and community festival has plenty of options for sponsors. Support our stage areas and live performers, markets, workshops and more.

Check out our Event Sponsorship Prospectus PDF, 5136.25 KB for more details on some of these community events.

Want to support a public art project, creative program or other cultural activities? Talk to us about what we’ve got coming up that might suit your business, or let us know if you’ve got a great idea.

Align your business with sustainable community activities. We regularly run environmental workshops, Bushcare groups, conservation projects, Greenhouse Park and more.

Wollongong Botanic Garden also has a range of opportunities for sponsors to be involved in events, activities and garden facilities.

Show your support for the team who keep our beaches safe. Support is always welcome for essential safety equipment like jet skis, rescue boards, Lifeguard vehicles and more.

Wollongong loves its sport! With more than 40 sportsgrounds across the city, we can connect you with opportunities to improve your local ground, or back your favourite sporting code.

While we welcome the support of local businesses, we have to be a little picky about our sponsors.

We look at sponsorship proposals to make sure they won’t create a conflict or affect us doing our duty in serving the community.

You can read about how we handle sponsorships in our Sponsorship of Council Activities policy PDF, 37.3 KB.
