Our Economic Development Strategy
Our Economic Development Strategy for 2025-2035 sets a vision for Wollongong as a diverse, resilient economy that fosters innovation and growth, attracts investment and supports a thriving business community.
This strategy builds on the success of the previous Economic Development Strategy 2019–2029, which saw the jobs target of 10,500 net new jobs achieved within its first six years. The updated Strategy sets a new target of 20,500 net additional new jobs by 2035. It also outlines five priority areas, 10 momentum-building projects and 52 specific actions items that will help guide our work with business and industry, entrepreneurs, investors, education and government partners.
