COVID-19 updates

  • Any community sport activities on our grounds must have and follow a COVID Safety Plan. Talk to your club for more information.
  • To support of our community and local sporting groups, we're waiving training and competition fees at our sportsgrounds across the city between 1 July and 31 December 2021.
  • We are also turning lights on at selected Council sportsgrounds to give people more options to exercise outdoors. For details see our COVID-19 support page.

Help shape our sports strategy

We're putting together a new plan for sportsgrounds and sporting facilities across our city. As a first step, we've drafted a vision, guiding principles and key focus areas, and we want to hear what you think.

Find our more and share your thoughts by visiting the Our Wollongong website until Monday 15 November.

We look after many sportsgrounds across our city.

We don't like closing sportsgrounds, but sometimes we need to for maintenance, events, or when play in wet weather could damage the surface. Clubs may also decide to cancel activities, even if Council hasn't closed grounds. Check with your sports club if you need to confirm whether play is going ahead.

Information about the sportsgrounds controlled by Council is shown below.
