Children's Book Week® has been a fixture of Australia's literary landscape since 1945. Each year the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) highlights the importance of reading by showcasing Australian children’s books, authors, and illustrators.

We celebrate Children's Book Week® by featuring colourful displays, running events and competitions, and sharing stories.

Art Competition

In 2023 we invited primary school students in years K-6 to create an original artwork inspired by the CBCA Book Week theme: Read, Grow, Inspire. Winners were announced 17 August, 2023. Read more here.
