We are proud to support the Community Renewables Program, an initiative helping households and small businesses across our region embrace clean energy solutions.
Delivered in partnership with the Illawarra Shoalhaven Joint Organisation (ISJO), ShineHub, and Kiama, Shellharbour and Shoalhaven councils, the program is part of our commitment to sustainability and achieving net zero emissions.
Through the Community Renewables Program, eligible residents and small businesses can access:
- High-quality solar panels and battery systems,
- Exclusive discounts, including the Federal Battery Rebate and NSW BESS 2 VPP rebate,
- Flexible payment options, including interest-free plans and no upfront costs.
These solutions are designed to make renewable energy more affordable and accessible, helping our community reduce energy bills, improve energy resilience, and contribute to a cleaner future.
Earn extra income from your solar battery
When you get a solar battery, you’ll be able to join the ShineHub Virtual Power Plant (VPP). The VPP is a collection of home solar batteries connected together by the VPP software, providing on-demand battery power to the grid when it needs extra power to stay stable.
In return, households receive a premium payment for any excess power contributed from their battery. You are still able to choose any energy retailer.
Get involved
Whether you're looking to install solar for the first time or upgrade your existing system, the Community Renewables Program has options to suit your needs.
