Public Art

We're inviting applications from arts sector experts to join our Public Art Advisory Panel.

See our public notice for details and apply by Friday 24 October 2025

Keep your eyes peeled across Wollongong for our many public artworks! From huge murals to sculptures, light and sound, there are plenty of cultural treasures to uncover.

As well as our City Centre, you'll find public art in many of our suburbs. Wollongong Botanic Garden also hosts Sculpture in the Garden every two years.

We commission new public art works, support others who create them, and care for permanent works in our city’s collection. You can read more about how we use art to bring public spaces to life below:

Council also has a Public Art Advisory Panel which provides independent, expert advice about all matters related to public art across our city.
