Wollongong City Council's Surf Sense program empowers students with the knowledge and skills to make sound decisions about safety and the environment at the beach.

    The Stage 1 Surf Sense program introduces beach and water safety.
    The Stage 2 Surf Sense program raises awareness of beach and water safety, and environmental issues.
    The Stage 3 Surf Sense program empowers children with the knowledge to make sound decisions about personal and group safety when at the beach without adult supervision.
    A program for international University students and community groups, raising awareness of beach and water safety, sun protection and signage.
    This program introduces basic information about the beach, lifeguards, the red and yellow flags and how to have an enjoyable day at the beach.
