From Book to Baton 4

A concert celebrating classical music and magical movie scores.

The much-loved From Book to Baton concert series honours the quintessential connection between books, films and music.

Conductor Dr. Steve Watson and a 40-peice orchestra will bring a selection of beautiful music to the stage, with a program that traverses film soundtracks, (Superman, Schindler’s List, Forrest Gump, Somewhere in Time, Mission Impossible, The Deer Hunter, Zorba the Greek, The Empire Strikes Back); classics (In the Hall of the Mountain King, Ritual Fire Dance, Four Seasons); musical theatre (West Side Story, Chess) and opera (Tosca, Pagliacci).

Featuring special guest soloists Sako Dermenjian, (Classical Guitar) Maggie Elizabeth Zeng (Violin) and Daniel Tambasco (Tenor).

Recognising that libraries are ‘more than books’, The Friends of Wollongong City Libraries celebrate services to our community with a concert that will delight music lovers of all ages.
