I love Wollongong because...
'I love Wollongong because...' invites young people to capture what they love about Wollongong in an image and submit it to be part of a public exhibition.
Works will be exhibited in an outdoor exhibition space to celebrate the skills and talent of young people in our community.
Twenty images will be exhibited on panels on the exterior walls of Wollongong Youth Centre. Others will be displayed in the exhibition space inside the building.
To be considered for the exhibition you must be a young person between the ages of 12-24 years in the Wollongong Local Government Area.
Your final submission must be your own work in the format of a digital image. It must meet the specifications explained in the 'What are the file requirements?' section of this page..
To take part in this program you will need to submit a digital file that meets the following minimum requirements:
- Portrait (or tall) orientation
- Pixels: 1000p wide x 3000p high
- Format: JPEG
Ideally, make your image the highest quality resolution possible. The image will be printed on panels that are either 600mm wide x 1800mm high, and/or 400mm wide x 1200mm high at 72 dpi.
You can resize your image before you submit it. We recommend using programs such as Photoshop Elements or Paint.net. If you don’t have access to these programs you can try using picresize
Please note: Images will be printed on very tall, narrow panels, at a 1:3 format ratio. You should try to compose and take your photo with this ratio in mind. If you provide an image that is not cropped, we will crop it before it is printed on a panel.
You will need to submit your image to Wollongong Youth Centre with a completed copy of the terms and conditions form PDF, 204.59 KB
Please drop your entries to the Youth Centre at 85 Burelli Street, Wollongong between 10am – 5pm Monday to Friday, and 1 – 4pm Saturdays. You can also email or call us on (02) 4227 8222 if you have questions.
