Line Marking

Most streets have line marking to help guide traffic and maintain safety.

We usually do line marking works at night when there is less traffic on the roads. This makes it safer for the workers and helps give the lines time to dry.

Line marking can be noisy, but it is quick and is essential for most roads.

Line marking after roadworks

If lines have been removed due to roadworks, they will usually be repainted in the month after the works are finished. This slight delay is normal because cold nights and fresh asphalt can impact the quality of the paints.

Faded or damaged line marking

We do line marking maintenance when old lines are faded, or where our traffic engineers need to address a safety issue.

If the lines on your street are faded, let us know so we can update our maintenance schedule as needed.

Use the button below or call us on (02) 4227 7111 to report a line marking issue.

Bad weather

When it rains, we can’t complete our roadworks. Sometimes we need to delay our program because of weather, but we will always reschedule works for another date.

Traffic control, detours and delays

All roadwork is done with the support of traffic control. This may be ‘stop/slow’ arrangements or detours and road closures.

Please pay attention to signs and follow instructions. Depending on the type of work being completed we may or may not be able to allow vehicle access to properties.

Our traffic control will always allow access for emergency services, so please don't worry about this.

If your street is on a bus route, we work with the bus company to minimise delays.

We'll also work to allow access for your kerbside bins to be collected.
