Illawarra Mercury Cosplay Competition
Step into the spotlight at Comic Gong's Illawarra Mercury Cosplay Competition. From original designs to iconic characters, bring your cosplay A-game for a chance to impress our judges and claim a prize.
There’s hundreds of dollars’ worth of great prizes up for grabs. Plus, the ultimate Adult and Teen winners will win a custom designed Best in Show trophy created by Illustris Models and 3D Printing valued at over $250.
To enter the Illawarra Mercury Cosplay Competition, you must read and agree to the Terms and Conditions Word DOCX or Terms and Conditions PDF.
Registrations open on the day, one hour prior to each competition category commencing. Register early to secure your spot as competition places are limited.

Accessible viewing area: We’ve reserved an Accessible Viewing Area for people with disability or accessibility requirements, and their family and carers, to watch the Illawarra Mercury Cosplay Competition at the Art Gallery. There is an accessible entrance ramp and lift access to Level 3 where the Competition is held.

Cosplay Meetups & Parade
Whether you're a Barbie girl, a Star Wars Sith, or a D&D devotee, our Cosplay Meetups are your chance to mingle with like-minded fans, swap costume tips, and snap some photos in front of our Comic Gong photo wall. Meetups occur every half an hour in the IPAC Foyer near the Arts Precinct.
When you're ready to take centre stage, our Cosplay Parade is the perfect opportunity for cosplayers of all levels to showcase their costumes and share their love for fandom. Meet at 1pm outside the Art Gallery to participate.

Cosplay Repair Station
Visit our Cosplay Repair Station at the IPAC for minor fixes and touch-ups to keep your cosplay looking flawless! From sewing mishaps to prop emergencies, our skilled volunteers from South Coast Cosplayers will have safety pins and super glue on hand to ensure you stay in character all day long.
Cosplay Weapons Policy
Comic Gong is committed to providing a safe environment for everyone to enjoy. To help us main a safe space for all, we ask all attendees to be mindful of our Weapons Policy when crafting their costumes for the festival.
