It is important that you consult with agencies to make sure they're aware of your event.
The amount of consultation needed will depend on the size of your event.
Some of the agencies you may need to consult are shown below.
NSW Police
It is recommended that you contact NSW Police and advise them of your event no later than 90 days before your event. This is more critical for large licenced events, such as music concerts and festivals, or anywhere that there is alcohol being served.
Consultation with Police may include:
- Pay Per Police: For some events it may be a requirement for paid police to be on-site. This should be discussed with Police prior to submission of the application. Council may also make it a condition of your approval that paid Police must be present.
- Operational requirements for Police at your event
- Licensing requirements for your event.
NSW Ambulance
It is recommended that you contact NSW Ambulance and advise them of your event no later than 90 days before your event. This is more critical for large licenced events, such as music concerts and festivals, or anywhere that there is alcohol being served.
Consultation with NSW Ambulance may include:
- Information about your event and confirmation of emergency access requirements
- Confirming your first aid on-site
- Operational requirements for Ambulance at your event, in addition to first aid
- Impact of licensing requirements for your event.
NSW Health and Ministry of Health
It is recommended that you contact NSW Health Service and advise them of your event no later than 90 days before your event. This is more critical for large licenced events, such as music concerts and festivals, or anywhere that there is alcohol being served.
Consultation may include:
- Notification of your event
- You must meet all the requirements of the NSW Health Public Health Order relating to COVID-19, and prepare a COVID Safe Plan for your event.
- If you are having a mass gathering that will exceed the Public Health Order at the time, you will have to liaise with the Ministry of Health and provide an application for exemption.
