We have 17 beautiful patrolled beaches from Stanwell Park in the north to Windang in the south.
North Wollongong Beach is patrolled all year. The rest of our beaches are usually patrolled from the start of the September school holidays until the end of the April school holidays.
Only swim between the red and yellow flags. Lifeguards or volunteer lifesavers have identified this as the most suitable part of the beach to swim and are on duty when these flags are displayed.

Remember, even if a beach is listed as patrolled, no flags = no swim!
9am - 4pm daily
Unpatrolled beaches
The following beaches are currently unpatrolled. Patrols at these locations will start from Saturday 28 September 2024.
It is not safe to swim at unpatrolled beaches.

Water quality
Beachwatch regularly monitors water quality at local beaches and updates pollution forecasts daily.

Beach rules
There are rules that apply at all of our beaches. Fines of more than $100 can be issued to people who do not follow these rules:
 | No surfboards between the red and yellow flags (body boards are allowed) |

| No horses |
| No vehicles |
| No alcohol |
| No dogs except in approved dog areas |
| No fires |
Please also note, camping is not allowed in most of our foreshore areas, parks and gardens.
Check for signs which will explain any activities that are not allowed. Council Compliance Officers patrol these areas and can issue fines to people who camp illegally in public spaces.
