Corroboree statement from Wollongong City Council

The Corroboree event proposed for 25 January 2024 has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

The planning of a Corroboree event came about through long and deep conversations with Aboriginal Elders and local communities over many months.

Council considers it a privilege to have collaborated with representatives from local Aboriginal communities and to be a part of the planning of such an event.

This city has a proud and diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, and we remain deeply supportive and invested in honouring their rich histories, knowledge and connection to Country.

We continue to have respectful and responsive conversations with the Elders, and learn from their knowledge and expertise.
